Clear fuel is Low Sulfur, and mostly only what is sold at service stations. The pump should tell you. The dyed fuel may or may not be low sulfur, depending on your location. For example, in ND, high sulfur is still available. It is true that when Low Sulfur was introduced 10 years ago, there was pump problems. It had to do more with the refining process than the lack of sulfur. Most of those problems have been ironed out now. The low sulfur of next year (I believe, could be a year later) will have less sulfur. The ultra low sulfur plan will be phased in until we have approx. only 2% of the sulfur that is in todays low sulfur. If you are concerned about lubricity, try to find bio-diesel (typically soy-based additive). If not, Shaeffer's or other additive manufacturers have additives available.
