restore farmall cub

I have a Farmall Cub I am considering restoring. It is all there,starts and runs, but has had lots of wear and tear. Would $3000.00 be a realistic budget to make it almost new again? Its so ugly I keep it in the back of the barn, every time I look at it I want to fix it up. I'd like to hear from anyone who has restored one of these jewels. I won't start this project if I can't finish it. Thats why I'm seeking advice from someone whos done it. Thanks
