Kinkaid

Hello, I was at a friends shop the other day and he showed me a walk behind garden tractor the his gramps gave him. He remembers it running when he was a kid, probably 40 years ago. This tractor seems quite old. On the handlebars it says Kinkaid Implement Co. It is a real solid piece that is completely covered with surface rust. It has a single steel wheel that is approximately 20'' in diameter with about 1'' pyramid shaped studs on it. The rear section of this ...thing... pivots just behind the motor and rides on two 6'' casters that set just far enough in front of the handlebars so the operator can walk without interference. The motor is placed almost inside of the steel wheel. The wheel has a large "drum" that I would assume has a ring gear inside and is driven by a gear or gears off the crankshaft. The really cool thing about this machine is an extra studded steel wheel that has about a 3' axle that is contained inside a housing. The axle bolts to the other (drive) wheel. You can bolt implements to the housing that of course will hang out the side (right side) without interfearing with the operator. He has a plow and disc that bolt onto this housing. In fact the lift arm for the plow looks like it is set up to give the plow extra tilt fot the first furrow????????? The engine crankcase is massive. I couldn't see any I.D. on the engine. Does anyone have any info on a machine like this.
Funny ting. I have been an avid antique motorcyclist for years and have never posted any messages to the tech groups. This Kinkaid really has me shook up.
