Hi Gerald, Have you tried stopping it by choking it off? If it restarts, or tries, it is almost certainly a fuel problem from your description. If not the valve clearance, maybe the manifold has a leak and only opens up when hot? When you say a good spark, is it a blue (good) or yellowish (bad)? Maybe not firing inside the cylinders especially if the mixture is weak. Presume the mag impulse coupling is working, if it has one. What are cylinder compression pressures when cold and hot? This is always a good diagnostic test and should be the first thing you check if you are short on ideas on the problem. Are you cranking or is it electric start? Maybe the mag is not latching on the impulse if electric start. Just a few ideas, but should be enough to at least keep you busy for a few minutes! Let us know what it was when you sort it.
