I'm in the Winnipeg area. I have used Big Freight out of Steinbach, MB quite a bit and they give very good service. If you would like to email me I can give you a list of several haulers you might try. I think the biggest problem you will have is that Winnipeg to/from Idaho is not likely a very heavy freight lane whereas Winnipeg/Minnesota,Iowa,Illinois, Indiana, Ohio etc. is. This will also be LTL flatdeck. I don't think the truckers are too shy of the border. I wonder how many people know that Canada and the US are each others biggest trading partner. The trade that goes back and forth accross our borders each year in US terms is far more than the US does with any other country in the world. Meaning China, Japan, Taiwan or any other. In fact I think I read that it's more than any other two combined; and I'll bet a high proportion of that is by truck. I've done quite a bit of shipping tractors by truck and I have also hauled them both ways. You can get a dink on either side of the border but I can't say I ever had any trouble. Just some guys/gals like to let you know they got the hammer. Maybe you should go duck or goose hunting up here this fall and take home your other bird as well. Good advice to stay to calling it a farm tractor. There's no duty either way as long as it was manufactured in the US or Canada. [email protected]
