If you are going to be pulling with it, settle for nothing less a 3/4 ton, and make sure it has the floating axles. There were a few years there that GM put out 3/4 tons with the regular axle, and with that the axle it self is carrying, and pulling the load. I pull with a F-250 4X4, 460 engine, 5 speed transmission, and 4/10 rearend. Very good pulling rig, but if you want gas mileage, it ain't there!
