Check out http://www.weekendfreedommachines.org/ good site for the all the good older JD garden tractors. Good advice there. They also have the toll free number to buy manuals direct from mother Deere. Maybe a bad ignition or PTO switch. When its cranking but not starting are you getting good fuel? Hang in there we'll get you going.
