190xt series I

I understand that these tractors had rear end concerns, similar to those of a 560 Farmall. Theoretically, there was a recall, by AC, whereby the original rear end components were replaced with heavier parts, curing the problem. I am considering trading a jd 3020 gas, for a 190xt diesel. How can I be sure that the 190xt has had the upgrades, at this point in time, 35 years after it was built? Should I just take a "pass" on this tractor and search for something else? How serious was the problem, and how likely would I be to encounter it again, now?
