In my area (Ca Sierras) the old ore carts are exclusively made of steel, generally they are just a steel box that fits between the wheels. (I'm guessing about 30" wide x 4' long x 3'tall). Yours had the wood outside the wheels so would be wider. It has to be stout (3-4" lumber) because they have a ton of rock shoveled into them. You also need the light track they used in the mine to move it around. The mines were all dug with a 2% grade so the empty cart was pushed up but didn't require much effort to push the loaded cart out.
