Powder Coating

Has anyone restored something using the Powder Coat painting process. I have enquired abiut it and found that it is not as expensive as I expected. I have an older Versatile 4WD that I want to restore this winter. The frame of course is very heavy- 7/16" or 1/2". The sheet metal parts are probably 1/8". I have seen powder coated items and the paint seems to be very tough. It won't scratch, chip or otherwise mark easily and seems to be quite shiny. Has anyone any experience or knowledge on this procrss and how suitable would it be here. Does it resist fading well. I think they heat the item to about 400 degrees. Does this cause any warping on thinner materials.
