Tell your co-worker to find a used commercial ZTR with a 4 or 5ft. deck. He can mow in half the time. If he buys a new one he can mow other people lawn and make money to make up the difference. I have had 6 ZTRs and currently have one of the worse ones built. I wouldn't trade it for a tractor style unless I could make money off the deal to buy another ZTR.
