I don't understand why we're second guessing the engineers here. There is a simple way to figure this out and it should be spelled out very well in the owners manual. You find all of the relevant weight ratings - GCWR, GVWR, Front GAWR, Rear GAWR - and if you are within those then you're fine and if not then don't pull the trailer. As someone mentioned you also have to have a sufficiently rated hitch, but that can easily be upgraded if need be.
