My 170 still has the shut-off under the tank tho.....and the carb float/valve isn't holding right now so I have to shut off the gas everytime I shut off the tractor, a PITA. I have a D12 that has a "floater" in the tank. It has a rubber hose to the carb that I can pull off and blow back into the tank whenever it acts up. Seems to work for weeks at a time.
