My Uncle Reg was the same way. He had a ladder out at the camp, a wooden ladder he and his brother had built in the 60's, it should have been burned about 1968...
Last summer I broke it up sent it to the dump, he sat on the porch and cussed me out "Broke up my good ladder, I can't believe it, like ladders is cheap or something!" I told him my bones were more expensive than ladders...
