I replaced a needle and seat for a gal the
other day on her JD 60 and had the same
problem you are. I took the float out and
checked it in a can of gas, looked good SO I
bent the float arm to position the float deeper
in the bowl, figuring it wasn't putting enough
pressure on the needle (Viton-tipped) and it
helped. After another bending job (about as
much as possible, this time) it quit leaking
and the tractor ran and pulled fine. I told her to
order a spare float, needle and seat for the
next time. :-)
