As the others have said you need to have a hot with the key on and one constant hot. On almost every aftermarket radio the red wire is the one going to the switched hot and the yellow wire goes to the constant hot. If the radio shuts off with the key you don't have them backwards, since it would have power all the time so most likely you just don't have the yellow wire on the always hot lead from the tractor.
