I rented one about 20 years ago (probably
didn't have electronics to worry about) from the
local DIY yard to clean a ditch about 3 feet
wide a nd 300 long. It had outriggers that
moved side to side and the feet went straight
down. The hoe bucket was about 2' wide so
the wet clay I was digging made for a big load.
I had to dig it 'off the side' because the top of
the ditch was too wide to straddle so I really
put some strain on the old girl. No problem
....plenty of hydraulic power, no sounds of
stressing steel and the weight of the machine
easily counter-balanced the massive scoops I
was lifting. That particular hoe is now in
private hands, a local farmer owns it, and it's
still going strong! Not much experience with
JCB, I admit, but it was all good...my 2....:-)
