Andy: As gasket applications go, this one is pretty simple--nearly any decent-quality sheet will do. The classic approach has been to use a gasket material with a SBR (styrene-butadiene) rubber binder, as these materials will swell slightly upon exposure to oil and diesel fuel, which aids in torque retention. However, a nitrile-bindered sheet will also work, and as nitrile is what you usually get when you buy generic gasket material, you should be able to get away with an off-the shelf Napa or similar packet of gasket stock. Proper surface preparation and careful assembly procedures are going to be more crucial than your selection of material.
