Thanks for the info...that is why I love this board. I just couldn't figure out why a BN could be sold next to an N, but obviously it could. And the explanations verify why. As for Pauls' comment about N's poularity in the east, I am guessing that the small acerage made them more popular. I haven't ever plowed with anything but big Ford Clones (WFE, 3 point hitch, etc) like MAsseys, JD's, AC's and others went on to become in the late 60's and seventies We sprayed corn so tilling wasn't an issue, and I don't ever remember ground clearance being an issue on the bigger tractors of the day....I can see the N series being a little low. Now it all makes sense.
