The spray bombs won't hurt anything as long as they are applied on well prepped, clean surface and you apply a sealing primer before you use your automotive paint. It has been awhile since my autobody class, but use the sealing primer from whatever company is supplying your automotive paint. Although using a sealing primer from another company usually won't hurt. We used a DuPont sealer primer almost exclusively in class no matter what we painted although I can't recall it's name. Velvaseal is an example from another company. Now for the bonus; in the future if you wish, you could skip the spray bomb and just spray with the sealer primer as it will protect from rusting while a regular filler primer (generally gray or red) will not. If you are sandblasting your parts, you are right to protect them immediately, as blasting opens up the pores in the metal and rust sets in quickly. I've seen surface rust completely cover a blasted part overnite if unprotected. Don't use any kind of oil or silicone preservative in lieu of some sort of paint as if you do not get it completely cleaned off it WILL ruin your paint job.
