Just wading into the fray. I believe the argument is accademic as all you are changing is the source of your power not how you distribute it, almost like going from 6 to 12 volt you just changed the power like going from one electric company to another .This is not like going from natural gas to elec.If the mag points ran the tractor before then the mag points will now run the tractor you did not physically change the way the tractor runs....just my 3 cents
