Hydraulic trouble

I just bought a Ford 850 with a "Lord" loader and "Sherman" Power digger. The hydraulics seemed to work fine (with the exception of the loader leaking down). After using the hoe for ten minutes the crank mounted pump started to squeal and nothing moved when trying to move any of the hydraulics. The hydraulic fluid is kind of "milky".
Could this problem be the pump?
Could it be hydraulic fluid quanity or quality?
Does hydraulic fluid ever just need to be replaced?
What are my replacement options? Thanks ...Ron
