I can share your frustration. Those H run at least poorly even if set up poor. I might suggests the following based upon experience: ....check the timing to see if previous owner has got it 180 off so that the firing order then needs to be off 180 also to get 1 fired correctly. I had one that ran well, did a tune up without looking closely, re wired the plugs only to fine that the order had to be changed to match the mag. setting ...the plastic bushing at the points may be cracked slightly so that it grounds out under a load thereby appearing to give some spark but not sufficent to run well Let us know ...
