thanks for all the advice, i have been planning to build a windmill, building the tower,about 24ft, shouldnt be too hard,but i have to get the speed regulation figured out so it dont overspeed and explode on me. i am going to use a chain drive for a gear reduction to my crank, and here at work we have a sheetmetal fabrication department so making the blades isnt a big deal. windmills are just too darn expensive to buy used,especialy around here in the northeast since they arnt real common
