Looking for a small V8 powered tractor. The kid I grew up with's father bought him a little Ford, (at least I think it was, know it had a beautiful sounding Ford Flathead in it) they called it a Turnpike Tractor as it had to run at high speed on the PA Pike to cut grass, it had little wheels, I remember dual 15" in the back, singles in front, it handled great as it was low to the ground, it really looked like a midget racer, we used it in the fields, tied a tire behind it with a long rope and hopped in the tire, this thing would move with the flathead V8, what a sweet vehicle. I seem to remember his father buying it as surplus from PA Turnpike back in 1956. One of the kid's broke his leg after getting thrown out of the tire, it would really whip you when making a turn, his old man got rid of it after the accident. Anyway I have to get on for my collection, does anyone have any information or remember such a item, thanks.

12-Volt Conversions for 4-Cylinder Ford 2000 & 4000 Tractors - by Tommy Duvall. After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
