The engine has to vent crankcase pressure some where, in this case the fan bearing seal since the breather tube is gone.Replace the breather tube and see what happens. The breather tube could have been removed because so much blow by was fouling plugs,or it could have been lost,who knows? Maybe with the engine breathing as it was designed, and there is not excessive blow by,you may find that the leak will dry up.
