Landrover towing

Has anyone any experience of towing with Series 2 or 3 landrover 2.25 petrol or diesel? How slow are they likely to be with a MF35 on a trailer behind? Maybe it would be better to pull Landrover with 35 on uphill bits! Just wondering as I was thinking I might like one and was using the tractor towing as some sort of justification. I currently borrow a Daihatsu Fourtrak to do it and have the impression that I might be less that impressed with the efforts of an old landrover to do the same job.
