Check the fuel line location, if its a gas model. If the fuel line runs too close to the exhaust manifold, the fuel will heat up and not atomize properly in the engine. I was able to relocate mine to the outer fitting on the carb and gently bend the fuel line away from the manifold before I reinstalled it. Be careful, tho - it's probably a steel line and will snap or fracture if you bend it too much (any decent car parts place can match up a replacement if it does break). You can also try putting some aluminum foil around it to act a a heat deflector; just wrap it around the whole line five or six times. Do both for the best performance.
