3M makes a very high quality respirator,with a silcone rubber body. I use this for priming, when spraying herbicides. For dusty conditions ( grinding metal sanding or shovelling out a grain bin) I change over the same mask to dust filters.
The little paper disposable masks offer little if any protection. With any repirator to work you must get a good seal on your face, which means you must be clean shaven.
We only get one set of lung per Life Time and we need to take care of them.
