I'm following this thread with interest as I'd like to make a similar roller myself and am looking for ideas. However, one clarification--calcium chloride will rust a rim faster than you can say "Jack Robinson"--any tire that is filled has a tube. Many a farmer has got CaCl on their rims during the filling or emptying process and ended up having to replace them.
