Are you using stone with dust in it? I don't have any suggestions for your roller as I've never seen the need for one. An experience with VDOT convinced me.

They required the dust for a driveway entrance I put in. There was standing water and I KNEW I was going to be back with large stone later. Wrong! The dust and stone combination set up like a rock. Around here the dust is essentially free, but for the hauling expense, as the washed stone costs a lot more.

The quarry here recommends stone with dust for all driveways. My experience is that it works great. Only problem I've had was one customer who insisted on washed stone. His driveway still isn't right.
