thanks for everyones help. The fastening bolts had come off and the pump was just sitting there. I bolted it back on and it worked.

I could see the belts, I'm not sure how a single person can reach all the places to do the job. Of course, I have short thick arms, which doesn't help.

I think I need to rent instead of own. I spend as much time learning about fixing as using the equipment.
