Priming Oil Pump

Got my Oliver 88 running after been sitting many years. Had no oil pressure. It did not want to pickup the oil, guess the pump was so dry it would not prime. Trying to avoid dropping the pan I did this: took the oil line off of the oil pressure gauge and pumped oil through it and into the engine with my oil squirt can. Fired it up and all was well!
