That is probably a Barnes pump and resevoir and it probably dosen't hold enough Hydraulic oil to run a log splitter by the time you get the cylinder full there is no more oil left in the resevoir ,if you can increase the volume of the resevoir it may have a chance to work,If you insist on building a log splitter Buy a webster pump and a 5 gal metal jerry gas can and fabricate yourself a reservoir and supply the pump via hoses
