you have two lines going to the cylinder,one going to the rear and one that is near the shaft.take the hose[ for the one that goes to the shaft end]loose at the valve and put it in a bucket,when the ram is pushed forward, oil will come out of the hose,when the ram stops against the log,the oil should stop.if it continues the ram is leaking internally.if not your pressure is not great enough,from the pump.
