How much is too much? Ford 730 loader....

I posted a wanted ad here at YT; looking for a used front loader for a Ford 4000SU (same as 3000 I believe). Got a call from a fellow with a Ford 730 in real good shape, with a front pump. He is asking $2,600. I was expecting to be in the $1,000 - $1,500 range. Please help me with this - is his price reasonable? or should I wait for another? Thank you for the help.
