It's probably not the seal then, because it's
located over the rear of oilpan at the rear main.
Where the rear main cap and block meet (on both sides ) there is a half groove on the cap and a half groove on the block that when attached leaves
a round channel where 10-12" of some type of rope
or string was bunched up inside. The diameter of
this opening is 1/8 to 3/16" and had 1/2 to 3/4"
of the end of this string sticking out of that opening between cap/block and gasket/oilpan.
Is there a seal or seal type rope that is
needed in this opening between rear cap and block????
