Ben has a good answer. Also if it's a shear bolt style now, maybe someone put too hard a bolt in it, or drilled it for an over size bolt? I've seen this before when the tool is shearing too many bolts, owners think they are "fixing" it. Also "power shafts" come in different class hp rateings. Maybe your rotary cutter has had the power shaft replaced with a cheapo unit? Good ones are expensive! You didn't say if it's a 3 point style or a pull behind either. With pull type i've seen guys turn too short and twist a power shaft. On 3 point styles, make sure the shaft doesn't "bottom out" when you lift it all the way up. All of these things are hard on power shafts, but usually it's the U-joints that suffer. Robert
