Grits might work in Fla., but they do not in North Georgia. I have tried that several times with ZERO results.
The Commercially available flakes (Amdro, Raid, et. al.) seem to work, but I think they just move elsewhere. Not sure how this would affect your pond, however..... And to the Napalm post above, I heard of a fellow (shhhhh) who put a LOT of diesel fuel on a big hill once & set it on fire. It burned for almost an hour, but was being rebuilt by the little critters the next day! Good Luck!
