What's gonna happen if I use the 1000 PTO

I have a JD 2010 that I use for shredding a large parking lot. Last week I puked a bearing and other parts on the 540 rpm pto. The 1000 rpm pto shalf is still okay. The local JD dealer says the parts are no longer available. What I am thinking is to change the yoke on the shredder to the 1000 rpm pto and start mowing. If I use some restraint and run the tractor at a slower engine speed will this hurt anything?
