Do You seriously run that O-300 at full RPM -ALL THE TIME?
Or do you adjust the RPM to match what you are doing,i.e. takeoff power,cruise power,landing power?
No engine is designed to be run at full throttle for a great length of time.
Most Aircraft engines I've operated only allowed full takeoff power for up to 3 minutes and then a reduction to lower RPM/manifold pressure is required before damage occurs.
High RPM means shortened life for aircraft an engine or at least shortened TBO (time between overhaul).
