First thing to consider is are you hauling inside your home state or accross state lines. If you are just staying in state check your "local" interpretations. I used to haul a lot of hay into and out of state on a pickup/gooseneck combo. In state (KY) I can run 38,000 on a farm tag, make all the money I want as long as it is part of my "farm" business. No trailer tag or plate, and don't have to stop at the scales. Interstate got to be too much hassle (esp since my trailer would never pass an out of state inspection). I got an old school bus, cut the body off, and got all the DOT/CDL B stuff to do my interstate work
