The company I work at bought 2 identical 1989 Top Kick dump trucks with 3208 Cat engines. Tested them with one synthetic and the other with 15W40 Pennziol. Oil tested every 5000 miles and both came back needing an oil change by the test. Every time Soot levels high. Stopped after 100,000 they both are still running great and haven't been inside the engine both have over 200,000. Operating cost was considerable higher with the one with synthetic oil.
