Synthetic oil shows it's greatest benefits in extreme conditions. Either marginal designed equipment with too much loading on wear surfaces, extreme heat (hot climate, turbo, continious operation at max power) extreme cold, high rpms or when absolute max milage is desired. Thus said the Turbo Buick has 286,000 miles on a modified race engine. Still runs with decent compression, oil consumption and 1/4 miles in the 12's. Use the stuff in the Deere's two cylinder diesel starting engine too. Faster oil pressure on startup and all the protection possible to make the wee engine$ la$t.
