The 1010 and 2010 John Deere tractors are UNIQUE, in that they alone, of all of the John Deere tractors ever made, have a BAD reputation. If someone tries to tell you that ALL John Deeres are BAd tractors because THEY once owned a 1010 or a 2010, well, let me just say that it isn't true. The truth is, ONLY the 1010 and 2010 tractors have bad reputations. The REST of the John Deere lineup are GREAT tractors. Quality wise, the 2010 is about on par with a 560 Farmall. It does have a tarnished reputation and I would keep the 450 over a 2010. HOWEVER, if you look at a 3010 instead, you will find a SUPERIOR tractor design, and provided you locate one in GOOD condition, you would be satisfied for DECADES to come!
