I never said the word "stupid" I said "Don't Know any better" Which meant people who pay $30,000 for a mini-SUV and $50,000 for a car figure $3500 for an 8N is a real deal and they have driven the price WAY out of proportion to actual worth. Afteralll they sold for what? $295 brand new? Since You've run an H You know how easy they are to get on & off, I used to mount M's & H's at a full run sometimes when I was younger and in a hurry. Hate to try that on an 8N. I used to haul 700-1000 gal. of water a day with H's & M's out to the hogs in the lot 350 gal. at a time so I know a 55 gal. drum is no problem for them. And during the summer I'd run the 6 ft Brillion rotary mower with the Super H for days at a time mowing road banks, clipping pasture, hay, weeds.... Didn't have a rear blade though.... But Dad had one for the Fast Hitch on the 450 and it even had forced down pressure. Stability is more a function of the operator than the vehicle. Any tractor can be rolled on it's side. I'm sure Your aware IH made many fine little utility tractors starting in 1955, 300, 330, 350, all avail. with the options You needed plus more weight & horse power at lower market prices. Also later model Massey Furgeson's, Case, even Oliver and Deere...all have models that are more value for the Dollar for the User. Now for the COLLECTOR, All bets are off. I saw an early 8N at a show that had the cast alum. hood the very first ones had that was all polished up like it was chrome plated....Combine THAT with a FUNK V-8 conversion and I'd park one in My shop in a second!
