TO 20 hydralic pump

The cam blocks in my TO 20 hydralic pump busted, I have replaced them. The problem is the cam slides forward on the pto shaft. When it does it binds the cam and wears a grove in the front. Does anyone know if these pumps had a spacer in front of the cam to prevent this. It can move forward a full inch. When I took it apart it did not have a spacer. Any help would be appreciated.
