You do need to unhook the hyd pump coupler- should be just two bolts, then turn the engine or coupler by hand, 1/4 turn. That gives you clearance to get the belt through. Check the plastic? inserts in the coupler, if they are a bit flat (new ones are round), then replace them as well. Not expensive, and the right time to do it. The coupler is aluminum, if like that on other JDs- always a chance of twisting off the bolts in them. Also likely you need to rotate the engine a bit to get both bolts out, depending what kind of sockets and extensions you have available. Not a major project though. Afterthought- coupler with two bolts has nuts to remove first- the bolts are also threaded into the coupler, one from each side. The nuts act as locknuts- take them off first, then unscrew the bolt.
