Bring it up to the top on COMPRESSION stroke. Uncover the timing hole, as I recall, on the right side of the flywheel housing, bring it up to, I believe, on the case 580, 20 degrees before top dead center and you will want to cross check me on this. Uncover the window on the injection pump and line the lines up in it. Install the pump, make certain the lines are lined up. If it's close, it will put out lots of white smoke. It's just as easy to make certain of it. You will need a "crows foot" wrench on the end of a 3/8 extension to tighten the bolt in the back of the pump. A little tip:: While bleeding the injector lines, pull the hose off the intake and cover it with one hand while someone else spins the motor over. If it can't get air, it has no compression and spins freely. When you get the lines bled, keep it spinning and pull your hand off. This is also helpful if you find yourself with a low battery. It's a one shot deal.Good luck.
