T_Bone, interesting you should say that, when my F-250 was in for regular transmission service the tech told me that people who use aftermarket tranny filters on their auto trannies tend to have problems with the tranny killing the engine - even in diesels. Turns out that aftermarket tranny filters slide down the pickup tube and into the pan; doing so partially blocks fluid flow and drives internal fluid pressures so high that the tranny kills the engine.
